Kimmo Havu brings over 20 years of experience in the software and technology sector, working for large global organizations. Most recently he has held positions at SAS Institute as Managing Director for Finland and as Financial Services Industry Leader for the Nordic market, with additional responsibilities on EMEA level. Prior to SAS Institute, he held leadership positions at IBM. He replaces Kim Nyberg, the founder of M-Brain, who will retire after a transition period.
The new appointment comes just two months after the Nordic leading B2B software growth investor, Monterro, acquired a majority stake in M-Brain. M-Brain has gone through a significant transformation in recent years, including divesting non-core business areas and investing heavily in AI technology. The acquisition by Monterro marks a turning point in the company’s history, with the focus shifting to growth, enabled by even more innovative solutions to its clients.
“The company has amazing customers and has built a leading technology platform for harvesting, analysing and distributing competitive and market intelligence information. I’m excited to take on this role and embark on this exciting journey to become a true SaaS company, supported by a dedicated organization of best-in-class industry advisors that truly creates a differentiator to all our competitors,” said Havu.
Together with Monterro, M-Brain plans to further invest in innovative AI-powered solutions like the recently launched Insights Discovery. M-Brain is also investing in the sales and customer success organization globally.
“We are excited to announce a new CEO appointment so soon in our holding period. Kimmo is the ideal leader for M-Brain bringing the skills and expertise that will enable us to transform the company into a true technology leader with unrivalled industry expertise”, said Martin Henricson, Chairman of the board. “He has a clear vision for the company and the skills and experience to execute on the massive opportunity.”
”When my wife Marjukka and I founded M-Brain at the end of the 90s, we had a clear vision of how digitalization would change the world and what its impact on information management would be. Reality has proved to be much more amazing than what we could have ever imagined.
I will be following with great interest how this accelerating development continues, and I am confident that Kimmo, together with his team will succeed in making M-Brain the success story we always knew it could be”, said Kim Nyberg, current CEO for the Group.
